Globalisation

The Tread Lightly Caravan Visit

Room 14 had a wonderful time learning about ways we can be 'responsible global citizens' by making small changes to the way we live and think. These 'environmentally friendly changes can have a significant difference to how our planet will look and feel to live in for humans, animals and other living organisms in the future. Please view the comments below and read about how our class felt about this interactive programme, what they have learnt and how that impacts the decisions and way they will do things in the future to ensure that they contribute to preserving this planet not its destruction.

Water Safety

WATER SAFETY 2013

As part of our preparations for EOTC week we have been learning about keeping safe in water. We have learnt that it is extremely important to keep as warm as possible if we find ourselves in the water unexpectedly for a long time to avoid  HYPOTHERMIA  settling in. We went to the Millenium Institute to practice some Water Safety survival  skills. We practiced the 'Huddle' technique putting the smallest person in the middle of our hugging circle, how to get people back onto a boat if tipped out and towing a person back to shore using the 'life saving technique.'

What part of our session did you enjoy the most? What new learnings have you made?
